Teaching

I place a high value on learning to draw accurately as a sound foundation for painting. As a realistic painter, I share my knowledge of creating believable form, perspective, and space.  I teach students to sharpen their observational skills, plan a painting’s composition, and choose colors that enhance the mood they want to convey. I encourage personal expression and choice of subject matter. I strive to be a teacher that is nurturing yet still inspires focused and dedicated work.

I offer plenty of individual attention. When appropriate,  I’ll  demonstrate techniques, guide critiques, and discuss the work of master artists.

Currently I am teaching a Monday afternoon watercolor class at a gallery in Canandaigua, NY. To register, visit Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery

I also teach private students in my home studio. I currently do not have any ongoing classes for groups at my studio, but if you have 2-4 people who want to learn the same skills, I can offer a custom class series to you. Please send me an email if you are interested in individual or small group learning.
